WORKSHOP FORMATS
Trunk Show
(2 hrs)
At a trunk show, I arrive with my large suitcase to unpack my designs piece by piece and present them in detail – many of them in different variations. I’ll talk about the background stories, sources of inspiration, and techniques used, as well as offer yarn alternatives and recommendations.
It’s a cozy, engaging gathering where people can knit, connect, and exchange ideas. All samples can be touched and viewed up close. Questions are always welcome.
Ladderback Jacquard Workshop
(3 hrs)
The Ladderback technique derives from the Jaquard knitting (today we usually call it colourwork) and is used to attach long floats to the WS of your work when knitting with different colours. This avoids distrortions and creates an even tension, even when knitting colourwork. You could also call it a sort of doublaface knitting.
When knitting the Mårvej Sweater for example, you’ll have to bridge more than 20 stitches in the colourwork section – this is what that thechnique is meant for.
What we’ll do
During this workshop, we’ll knit samples from different charts and will learn this helpful technique, step by step.
We’ll practice how to begin, to work and to finish a ladderback section, so you will be able to use it freely in future projects if necessary.
Short Rows Workshop
(3 hrs)
Short rows are often used to provide garments a good fit. Because with this method, you can literally sculpture your knits following the shape of your body.
Most often it’s used to thepe the neck or the shoulders ofa sweater. But it also offers lots of opportunities for e.g. graphic patterns on shawls or scarves.
There are different methods to work short rows and each of them has their advantages and disadvantages.
What we’ll do
During this workshop you will learn to work different short row techniques, step by step. We’ll compare their usability for different patterns (stockinette and garter stitch) and purposes.
- Wrap & turn
- German short rows
- Japanese short rows
In the end, you’ll be capable of choosing the matching method for your next project.
Banister Workshop
(3 hrs)
Banister Tee & Longsleeve is a light sweater that can be knitted with either short or long sleeves. The design details on this minimalist design are a mix of interesting techniques.
What we’ll do
During this workshop we’ll practise all the techniques which are used in the pattern tigether, so the knitting of the design will be easy for you:
- provisional cast-on
- folded neckband
- Latvian braids
- Japanese short rows
- zigzag raglan line
Elbbrücken Workshop
(3 hrs)
The Elbbrücken Sweater (including the hat) is the perfect project for anyone who loves unusual constructions.
This workshop offers an in-depth look at the structure of the Elbbrücken design, along with background stories and insights from the development phase. It aims to cultivate a bold, exploratory approach to knitting projects.
What we’ll do:
We’ll practice and internalize various techniques from the pattern so that they stay present and can be easily applied in future projects:
- Cabled cast-on
- Latvian braids
- Sculptural construction of the shoulder bridge
- Personal fit adjustments

I will lovingly visit you, too!
Would you be interested in hosting me for a trunk show or a workshop at your local yarn shop? Or are you planning a venue and are looking for guest designers? Then take a look at my wokshop portfolio.
