WHELK COWL is a cosy neckwarmer with a striking yet simple design concept. Spiralling cables flow outward from the neckband, winding across the fabric and ending in a yoke with a twisted look.
This unusually dynamic structure makes for a knit that is both simple and surprisingly engaging – even addictive. The hardest part? Taking breaks.
The inspiration for this vortex-like construction comes from whelk shells, commonly found along the shores of the North Atlantic Ocean.

Fit
Whelk Cowl is a neckwarmer that combines features of a yoke and a sleeve for a comfortable fit around the neck. Its shape offers a perfect protection against windy weather, even when riding a bike. The length can easily be adjusted to your liking.
Techniques
The cowl is worked top down in rounds, seamlessly. The neckband is knitted in twisted rib and the WHELK lines are created trough cabled stitches.
